DIY Catnip: Save Money by Growing Your Own From Home!

Catnip. It’s a cats favorite treat. Crush some up and you’ll have cats rubbing against you begging for more. But did you know:

Most of the catnip that is in the stores is NOT fresh. Most of it is dried and has preservatives to keep it as fresh as possible for as long as possible. A LOT of it sits on the shelves or in warehouses for months and months, which over time weakens the potency and overall freshness of the nip. Poor kitties!

Because the catnip has to be stored, preserved and shipped, and retailers have to stock their shelves with it, that means that the overall cost is going to be more as well. Bummer.

But don’t worry too much, that’s why I’m here! I am going to show you exactly how to grow FRESH, POTENT catnip from home that your cats will absolutely love! This is an amazing opportunity to do a craft with the kids and teach them about plants and gardening as well. Mom Win!

Grow Your Own At Home

Overall, catnip is pretty amazing. My cats go absolutely crazy for it. I used to buy the store bought brands for the longest time, but after some deep digging in pinterest for gardening ideas, I came across the idea of growing catnip. Of course, I HAD to try it for myself!

I currently have about 150 plants growing strong in my backyard in different pots. I gave my kitties some to sample, and of course they are in love too! I had so much fun with the whole process that I decided to create a fun little printable to get you started growing catnip from home too. And of course, because I love all of my wonderful blog subscribers, I am giving it away completely free of charge.

To snag the printable guide, simply click the button below and follow the prompts 🙂 Happy growing!
